Who is Tyrone?

Meet one of the most coolest and kindest founder on planet earth.

Tyrone Shum’s journey through life has had many twists and turns. He began his professional career working in the Real Estate industry starting as a sales agent in the northern district of Sydney. Then moved across into the building industry and worked his way up to senior management level within an ASX 200 listed company. He moved across as a project manager for UTS and have helped implement numerous projects across their campus. After buying his first investment property at the age of 24, Tyrone discovered and fell in love with the power of what property can do for your wealth.

In fact, as a fully Licensed Real Estate Agent (LREA), Tyrone’s direct yet open approach has enabled him to help dozens of clients confidently and safely build recurring income through property. Ever since Property Investory was launched in 2017, which is the No. 1 Property Podcast on Apple iTunes in Australia, he has spoken with notable game-changers in the property investing space. Steve McKnight, Jan Somers, Margaret Lomas, Jane Slack-Smith, Michael Yardney, Chris Gray and Terry Ryder just to name a few.

Incredibly, the podcast has remained to be a top choice of investors when looking for in-depth stories on property investing and development. In fact, this treasure of a resource boasts over 2 million downloads so far. It’s where his listeners can get the best strategies, practical tips and insights on how to invest in EFFECTIVE and PROFITABLE properties — all straight from the wisdom of EXPERIENCED property investors who’ve already been there.

Currently, armed with core values of integrity and trust, Tyrone ‘walks his talk’ in property investment as he connects investors to property deals and invests himself when he has the funds.

The Journey So far..

It’s not about the destination, but all about the journey.

Growing Up

At a young age, Tyrone's parents nurtures his love for building things and bought him various LEGO sets, from monorails to giant cities. That’s where he begins learning about construction and the concept of building systems.

Further Education

Tyrone finishes high school. With parents always encouraging him to go to university to get a better education and with a natural inclination towards computers and his love for LEGO, Tyrone enrolls to get a degree in Computer Science at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

Turning Point

Tyrone experiences a gut-wrenching wake-up call, which became a key turning point in his life, when he failed the first year of university. He felt it was the end of the world as he had never received scores below 50 up until that time.

That same week, his aunty Amy gives him a book called Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki, which changes his life and inspires him to change career paths to become an entrepreneur and eventually a (property) investor.

Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Funnily enough one year later, Tyrone—for the first time—goes to see Robert Kiyosaki who was speaking at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney at the time.

Motivated by the author to take action and start a business in his spare time, he joins a network marketing company and begins running a vending machine business while still a student at university.

Turning Point

Tyrone graduates from university and changes career paths. Knowing he needed to improve his sales skills, he jumps into real estate working at LJ Hooker and Ray White for a number of years as a sales agent.

Meeting My Mentor

Tyrone meets Steve McKnight, Australia's No. 1 best-selling business and property investment author and the founder of the biggest online property investing website. He joins McKnight's RESULTS mentoring program.

He starts another project renting and then subletting six properties across Sydney.
